Democrats Wave the White Flag

In the face of overwhelming chaos sowed by the Trump administration, Congressional Democrats are being as about as effective as you’d expect.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries simply raised the white flag live on television at a time we need strong leadership.

Victim blaming: He went on to criticize “activist groups” for “dividing” the Democratic Party, by urging constituents to call their representatives en masse.

This spineless coward needs to go.

Meanwhile, Rep. Dan Goldman of New York called on Republicans in the slim majority in the House to “be willing to lose” to do what’s right for America.

Here we see the Democrats trying to use normal tactics against non-normal rule. If everyone from Jeff Bezos to Snoop Dog are falling in line with Trump, how can we expect any Republican to go against the grain?

But it doesn’t help to telegraph our feeling of powerlessness. And for members of Congress, in particular, to be transmitting that publicly is all the more bleak. It validates and emboldens the Fascists even more.

If you are hoping to sway a Republican to the right side of history, one must make negotiations as such behind the scenes. By stating such on MSNBC, you ensure no one will step up. Who in their right mind would want to be seen volunteering to do that?

Even if course of action is not apparent currently, we need to have some leader apparent emerge from the Democratic Party and at the very least be a constant source of truth.

Strong may not be able to stop the Trump administration, but they can stop the hyper-normalization of what it is doing.
